Agent workforces running in production today

Your people do the work. We'll do the admin.

Cortex Labs deploys private AI agent workforces inside Australian businesses. The write-up, the data entry, the chasing, the follow-up email — done, checked, and waiting for a two-minute review instead of an hour of your team's day.

Nothing reaches a client without a person approving it
The problem

You didn't hire experts so they could do data entry at 9pm.

In every business we've walked into, the same three things are true. None of them are anyone's fault — they're just what happens when expensive people are the only ones who can do the admin.

01
The admin happens at night

Write-ups, data entry, the reporting nobody has time for — squeezed into the evening because the day was full. Multiply it by everyone, by every week of the year.

02
The record depends on the week

A file note written on a quiet Tuesday looks nothing like one written on a brutal Friday. Figures discussed in the room don't always make the file. That's a compliance problem waiting to happen.

03
The knowledge walks out the door

What was agreed, what was promised, what the client actually said — it lives in someone's notebook and someone's memory. When they leave, it leaves.

Two decades of enterprise IT, pointed at one problem.

Behind Cortex Labs is more than 20 years in enterprise IT — delivering for customers across virtually every industry, in organisations around the world. We've since designed, built and run production AI systems across multiple Australian businesses, in finance, legal and professional advisory settings.

We write the code. We run the servers. We own the outcome. Not a reseller arrangement, not a side project — two decades of building systems that have to still be working at 3am, pointed at the admin your team is drowning in.

The difference

A week in your business, with and without an AI workforce

Nothing changes about the work your people are good at. Everything changes about the work that surrounds it.

Today

  • Client conversations written up from memory, hours later — usually in the evening
  • Statements and source documents re-keyed by hand, line by line
  • Follow-up emails written from scratch, days after the fact
  • Missing documents chased manually, when someone remembers
  • Job and matter status updated only when someone gets to it
  • Weekly reporting compiled by hand, the night before it's due

With an AI workforce

  • Every conversation captured, structured and filed automatically
  • Documents read and pushed into your systems, with exceptions flagged
  • Follow-ups drafted and waiting for a review, not a blank page
  • Outstanding documents chased automatically, politely, on schedule
  • Status current without anyone updating it
  • Reporting assembled rather than compiled
The maths

What is manual admin actually costing you?

Move the sliders. This is your annual admin burden — the hours, and what they're worth.

Your business

Rough numbers are fine — we'll get precise in the discovery workshop.

What we do

Four families of work we take off your team

Always shaped around your processes, never a fixed menu. Most businesses start with one and expand once the results land.

Meeting Intelligence

A device on the table captures the conversation. Minutes after it ends, the file note is written, the figures are extracted, and the follow-up email is drafted — waiting for your review.

  • Speaker-identified transcripts, not a wall of text
  • File notes in your business's format
  • Action items extracted and assigned
  • Every figure and decision captured verbatim

Document & Data Extraction

Financial statements, bank records and source documents read by AI and pushed straight into your working papers — structured, cross-checked, ready to use.

  • Source documents into structured, auditable data
  • Exceptions flagged, not buried
  • Written into the systems you already run
  • A human reviews the exceptions, not the pile

Client Communication Drafting

Follow-ups, engagement summaries and routine correspondence drafted in your business's voice, grounded in what was actually said — for a human to review and send.

  • Grounded in the real record, never invented
  • Your tone, your templates, your compliance language
  • Nothing leaves the building without a human approving it

Workflow Automation & Triage

Inbox triage, chasing missing documents, job status updates, weekly reporting — the quiet hours that never hit a timesheet but eat the week anyway.

  • Inbox sorted and routed before anyone opens it
  • Outstanding documents chased automatically
  • Job status current without anyone updating it
  • Reporting assembled, not compiled by hand

Delivered as a managed service. We build the agents, we run them, we keep improving them. Your team just sees the work done.

Proof, not promises

It's running in production. Today.

Agent workforces are live inside Australian businesses right now, on infrastructure dedicated to each of them alone.

Live in production

The work still gets done to the same standard. It just stops taking the evenings.

Before: capable, expensive people spending hours a week producing records from memory, re-keying figures out of documents, drafting routine correspondence from a blank page, and chasing paperwork that should have chased itself.

Now: the workforce picks that up as it arrives. It understands the work, produces the record, the structured data and the draft, audits its own output, flags anything it isn't sure about, and hands the lot to one of your people to confirm. An hour of production becomes a few minutes of review.

We'll show you exactly what it does. How it's built stays ours — that's the part you're paying for.

How a workforce works

  • CaptureWork arrives on its own — conversations, documents, inbox, systems. Nobody has to remember to feed it anything.
  • UnderstandThe agents read and listen, work out what matters and who said or signed what.
  • ProduceRecords, structured data, drafts and updates — in your format, in the systems you already run.
  • Self-checkA separate review agent audits the output and flags anything it isn't confident about.
  • Human approvalNothing reaches a client until one of your people confirms it. Always.
Security & privacy

The first question every business asks. Here's the answer.

You hold financial records, legal matters and personal information. We designed the platform around that constraint — it isn't a feature we bolted on.

Your own private environment

Separate compute, storage and credentials. Not a shared public tool your staff paste client data into.

Hosted in Australia

Processed and stored onshore, under Australian law. We can tell you exactly where every byte lives.

Never trains a public model

Enterprise AI services with contractual guarantees on exactly this point. We'll show you the contracts.

Private & auditable

Every agent action logged, timestamped and traceable to its source — so you can always answer "why does the file say that?"

We also maintain a compliance roadmap against the ACSC Essential Eight, and work through the Australian Privacy Principles with you as part of the engagement. If your business has a security questionnaire, we've probably already answered it.

Questions

The things businesses actually ask us

Is this going to replace my staff?
No — and businesses that try it that way usually fail. What it replaces is the write-up, the chasing, the re-keying and the after-hours admin. The people you employ for judgement, relationships and advice keep doing exactly that, with more time to do it. The honest version: it makes a team of five feel like a team of seven, without hiring two more.
What if the AI gets something wrong?
It will, occasionally — which is why nothing reaches a client without a human approving it. We also run a dedicated quality-review agent whose only job is to audit the other agents and flag anything it isn't confident about, so your reviewer's attention goes to the two things that need it rather than the fifty that don't. Every output traces back to the source recording or document.
Do we have to change our systems?
No. We deploy agents around the systems and processes you already have. That's the whole point of the analyse phase — we work out how you actually operate, then build to that.
How long until we see something real?
Discovery is 90 minutes. Analysis and scoping typically take two to three weeks. A first pilot workflow is usually running on real work within weeks of you saying go — not quarters. You should be reviewing genuine agent output early enough to change your mind cheaply.
We're a small business. Is this only for big ones?
The opposite, usually. Small businesses feel admin load hardest, because there's nobody to hand it to — the teams we build for tend to be small and owner-led for exactly that reason. If you have expensive people spending their evenings on admin, the maths tends to work.
What happens to our data if we stop?
You keep it. We hand over the outputs, decommission the environment and delete what remains, on your instruction and with evidence. The reason clients stay is that it works — not because we're holding anything hostage.
